The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has ordered the immediate return of contractors to the site of the General Hospital project in Agadagba Obon, Ese-Odo Local Government Area, signaling a renewed commitment to healthcare infrastructure in the riverine community.
This directive follows the Commission’s 2025 budget presentation and defense before the Ondo State House of Assembly earlier this week.
Speaking at the Commission’s headquarters in Oba-Ile, Akure, OSOPADEC Secretary, Princess Abike Bayo-Ilawole, meet with representatives of the construction firm, Cimax Valexim Nigeria Ltd, where she emphasized the importance of strict compliance with the project’s contractual standards.
“The Commission is committed to ensuring that the people of Agadagba Obon benefit from quality healthcare. The contractor must deliver in line with the agreed terms,” Princess Abike Bayo-Ilawole, Secretary, OSOPADEC.
The Managing Director of Cimax Valexim Nigeria Ltd, Engr. Dan Caineanu, disclosed that the hospital project is about 70 percent complete. He assured the Commission of the company’s readiness to mobilize back to site immediately and complete the work within six months, subject to timely disbursement of certified funds.
“When completed, the hospital will provide 48 patient beds and ease the burden of residents who currently travel long distances to Okitipupa and Ondo for medical care,” Engr. Dan Caineanu, MD, Cimax Valexim Nig. Ltd.
The completion of the hospital is expected to greatly enhance access to healthcare in Agadagba Obon and surrounding communities, aligning with the State Government’s broader agenda to improve the quality of life in oil-producing areas.
