Ondo PDP State Caretaker Committee Visits Arogbo Son, Mr. Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, Rejects His Resignation Letter

In an unscheduled move, the Ondo State Caretaker Committee today visited the residence of the State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, in Akure. The delegation, led by the State Chairman, Rt Hon. Dr. Bakkita Bello, sought to address Mr. Peretei’s recent resignation threat, urging him to reconsider his decision.

During the visit, Dr. Bakkita Bello conveyed to Mr. Peretei that recent developments within the party were not substantial enough to warrant his resignation. The Chairman expressed the belief that the matter could be resolved through dialogue and understanding.

You are a true party loyalist, which is why we have come to encourage you to withdraw your resignation. We cannot accept your letter of resignation,” Dr. Bello remarked.

Earlier, Mr. Peretei had shared his reasons for considering resignation, citing feelings of betrayal and disappointment by individuals he once regarded highly within the party. The State Publicity Secretary emphasized the emotional toll of recent political developments on his decision.

Other committee members present during the visit included the State Woman Leader, Hon. Princess Kemi Adesanya; State Youth Leader, Comrade Babatunde Daodu; State Financial Secretary, Hon. Boluwaji Bamidele; State Organizing Secretary, Engr. Dare Akinwale; Ondo State Central Senatorial Woman Leader, Hon. Mrs. Mercy Akinlami; State Director of Media and Publicity, Leye Igbabo; and Directorate Officer, Prince Niyi Akinola.

The Caretaker Committee’s visit underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain party unity and resolve internal conflicts as the party navigates its internal challenges.
