A renowned Niger Delta-born human rights crusader and environmental justice advocate, Chief Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has issued a stern warning to political job seekers and highly placed Nigerians, urging them to desist from distracting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and state governors from focusing on delivering good governance to the people.
Chief Mulade, who holds the traditional title of Ibe Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, made this call during a media interaction in Abuja. He condemned the ongoing wave of early endorsements for the 2027 general elections, describing them as “mischievous” and “self-serving”.
“I appeal to highly placed Nigerians to stop distracting the President and Governors over 2027 general elections that is still over two years away. These endorsements are rooted in selfish motives; aimed at preserving political positions and contracts; and are to the detriment of national development,” he asserted.
According to Chief Mulade, President Tinubu has not yet completed two years in office and should be allowed to focus on fulfilling his Renewed Hope Agenda rather than being derailed by premature political scheming.
“It is imperative to state that the President is barely about two years in office and has not delivered on his electioneering promises. Those promoting early endorsements are doing more harm than good and are only feeding their own ambitions,” he added.
The peace ambassador called on all well-meaning Nigerians to rise above personal interests and prioritize the nation’s well-being. He urged the President to remain vigilant against sycophants and praise singers who are more concerned with political positioning than the common good.
He emphasized that, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR does not need these distractive and mischievous political endorsements to be re-elected if he delivers on his promises to Nigerians.”
