Vigilant Soldiers of Operation HADIN KAI Stop Deadly Terror Advance
In a decisive show of military readiness, troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks at Azir Bridge in Sector 2 and Banki in Sector 1 in the early hours of March 13, 2026.
According to an official statement by the Joint Task Force (North East), the terrorists “advanced en masse in a desperate bid to overrun the locations” but were met with “swift and decisive resistance from vigilant troops.” The statement highlighted that soldiers demonstrated “superior tactical acumen and combat readiness,” launching counter-attacks that disrupted the attackers’ formations and forced them into retreat.
Close air support from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI also played a pivotal role in the successful defense, the statement added, ensuring the terrorists were unable to gain any ground.
Addressing circulating online rumors, the Joint Task Force clarified that these reports were misleading. “These foiled attacks starkly contradict the misleading propaganda and false reports circulating on some online media platforms,” the statement said, emphasizing that troops remain firmly in control of the operational areas.
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer at the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force, reassured the public that the mission against terrorism continues unabated: “The Joint Task Force remains resolute and committed to defeating all terrorist threats across the theatre of operations and restoring lasting peace to the North-East region.”
The successful defense marks another operational victory for OPHK, underlining both the preparedness of Nigeria’s security forces and their determination to protect vulnerable communities in the North-East.
